Developing Entrepreneurs | Building a Better Future

World StartUp Cup was been created as a natural extension of the StartUp Cup mission, reinforcing our commitment to growing and celebrating entrepreneurs globally. In its second year, World StartUp Cup is open to first place winners from each local StartUp Cup Challenge and WECREATE Challenge that held their awards celebration anytime between January, 1, 2015 and by January, 2016 along with the winners of Africa StartUp Cup 2016.

Silicon Valley StartUp Cup WinnersThe first place winning entrepreneurs and startup teams will travel to Washington D.C. to present their business models along with the progress made since entering their local StartUp Cups to an international panel of judges comprised of StartUp Cups judges from around the world. This year’s event takes place August 3, 4 and 5, 2016.

The winning startup will receive thousands of dollars in tailored coaching and mentoring from StartUp Cups growing network of mentors and coaches, prizes and access unique and customized resources to support advancing World StartUp Cup competitors and winners.

Washington D.C. was selected from a number of competing cities from around the world based on their commitment to developing a diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem where entrepreneurs with any type of business idea, from any background or education level are encouraged to grow and are celebrated as the true heroes of their community.

Women Empowerment

WECREATE KenyaRunning in parallel to World StartUp Cup will be the first WECREATE Summit where we will be sharing stories and experiences of actively empowering women entrepreneurs in Cambodia, Kenya, Pakistan, Vietnam and Zambia. It is also an opportunity for us to celebrating the women entrepreneurs of WECREATE Centers around the globe.

WECREATE is a growing global network of Women Entrepreneurial Center’s of Resources, Education, Access, and Training for Economic Empowerment. Each WECREATE Center is a physical entrepreneurial community hub that can be replicated in any community and is currently operating in Cambodia, Kenya, Pakistan and Zambia with future Centers scheduled to open in Vietnam and Mali. The WECREATE Initiative is a public-private partnership between the U.S. Department of State and StartUp Cup.
